The commitment to total electrification is not only prompted by economic development but also because the government is mandated by law to accelerate this initiative. Under the EPIRA Law, total electrification covers not only accessible areas tied to the grid but unviable areas as well. Projects and programs have been implemented by the government to increase and accelerate access to electricity services to unserved communities. Previous efforts have led to easing poverty with almost all barangays being electrified and the few left not electrified are still pending due to geographical and security reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
